Meet the Team

Dawn M. Grant

Executive Director

Dawn brings 18 years of experience working for reputable Senior Living Companies throughout the Valley. She has a strong background in operations with an emphasis on clinical and sales and marketing. She enjoys working with residents and families to ensure they have a successful transition into a senior living community. She is compassionate about caring for the aging population and has a special place in her heart for residents with dementia. Dawn has an open-door policy that encourages employees, residents and families to stop by to share their experiences with her. In this way, the community can not only learn and grow from them but can also share and celebrate achievements and joyful moments.

Dawn is originally from Wisconsin, enjoys anything fitness related and is outdoor adventurous. She is a proud Mom to three amazing children - Mykal, Sydney and Chase .  


Amy Myers

Health Services Director

Amy brings over a decade of experience in the health care industry to Savanna House. Her career spans back to her time as a candy striper at the age of 12. After serving as a CNA for over a decade, she achieved her goal of becoming a nurse, serving in emergency departments, skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities. She has an extensive background in assisted living, with an emphasis in memory care. Working with seniors, particularly those needing memory care, is what Amy enjoys most and finds the most rewarding.

Amy grew up in Maryland and Pennsylvania. When she’s not working, you can find her spending time with her husband and kids, who are 9 and 5 years old. They enjoy traveling to places such as Disney resorts and going on cruises. Her hobbies include baking and photography.


Tom Topping

Maintenance Director

Tom brings over 20 years of experience in the multi-family and hospitality industries to Savanna House. A native of Boston and avid fan of the Red Sox and Patriots, he has lived in Arizona since 1988. He is a graduate of The Refrigeration School Institute (RSI). Tom loves to help people, meet new friends and problem solve. He is married and has a blended family of five children and two granddaughters. In Tom’s spare time, you will find him hiking, riding dirt bikes and fishing with his family.

Hector Pagan

Head Chef

Chef Hector brings over 27 years of culinary experiece to Savanna House. Born and raised on the east coast of Puerto Rico, he started working in restaurants at the age of 17 and his extensive career has included positions in the hospitality and senior living industries at resorts and communities in Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Miami and Arizona. Hector pursued business college education in New York and and Arizona and obtained a culinary certificate from the Caribbean Culinary Institute. He also attended Arizona State University as well as the University of Phoenix. Hector resides in Maricopa with his wife of 10 years and his four sons.

Cherie Hospodka

Business Office Manager

Cherie Hospodka serves as the business office manager, with her primary role to oversee accounting, human resources, and payroll. She is passionate about the senior community and comes to Savanna House with many years of experience working in a nursing facility. 

Cherie was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona and currently resides in San Tan Valley with her two daughters, Liliana and Isabella. During their free time, they enjoy taking a dip in the pool and baking sweet treats together. 

Cindy Deck

Director of Sales and Marketing

Cindy brings over 12 years of senior living industry experience in sales and marketing to Savanna House, having previously worked for a Home Care agency and independent living, assisted living and memory care communities in Wisconsin and Arizona. She started in the Senior Living Industry because both of her parents died six months apart and she lived out of town from them. It was overwhelming for her trying to figure out their care and learning all the ins and outs that one would never know until they go through something like that. When Cindy was able to go back to work, she chose a new career because she wanted to get to know families in similar situations and help them navigate the overwhelming decision to put their loved ones in their forever homes.

Cindy is a graduate of the University of Maryland, and prior to entering the senior living industry served as a media director for a large advertising agency in Los Angeles. She and her husband, Robert, are parents to two sons - Jordan and Jared - and love to entertain friends and family and watch new and old movies of all genres. Cindy is also an avid reader, news junkie and animal advocate.

Kim Wood

Activities Director

Kim Wood serves as our Life Enrichment director. She has been a recreational program director and competitive gymnastics coach since 1993, working with toddlers to high school graduates. She loves to see people have fun with what they do and enjoy the excitement of learning something new. Her transition to the senior community reignited her passion for activity programming, after all “laughter is the best medicine!”

Originally from Toronto, Canada, Kim has landed here in Gilbert, Ariz., with her family, David, Jackson, Joey and Dylan. If they aren’t at a sporting event for the younger boys, they are at the theater watching Jackson perform musical theater.
